Ten years have passed since he set his first world record, but Gianluca Genoni doesn't think it's time to retire just yet.
This year, after the intense training he did all summer in Liguria, the "fish man" of Busto Arsizio is ready for his seasonal appointment, with a sensational undertaking. This time, the destination is the Red Sea and he has two items on his calendar:
• The first is a descent into the legendary Blue Hole of Dahab, 60 km north of Sharm El Sheik.
The Blue Hole is about 30 mt in diameter, inside the coral reef off the coast of Dahab. It's about 110 meters deep, and Gianluca Genoni will try to reach the bottom with a mobile ballast of 10 kilos.
• The second event is an exhibition/record attempt at Sharm El Sheik in Gianluca's favorite free-diving specialty, variable ballast.
